Alcoholic’s Bucolic

I wish to disappear so far into my drink
That I would actually disappear.
I wish to be drunk as much as
My wine wishes to be drunk.
Together we will prove the pleasures
Of a thousand fermented roses.
Purple pool, darkest deep end,
Pupils more rich than any woman’s,
I shall dive and dive and dive,
And may I never hit the bottom.
